Cook your beans (careful, or they’ll turn to mush). Saute garlic and shallot in olive oil, then add fresh rosemary. The amount of oil is to taste, but you don’t want it dry. Add your beans & stir gently. Salt & black pepper, chopped parsely on top and you’re done. Good Tuscan side dish to grilled beef or lamb. You can also cut up some tomatoes and saute them with the garlic.
Add cooked pasta (shells, fusille, orecchiette) and oregano and you have pasta fagioli (aka pasta fazool)
It is almost a requirement to add a little bit of chopped up ham for flavor when you cook beans. I also like to add a dollop of catsup on top of my own serving of beans, so I can have a litle taste with each spoonful.
I make a delicious spanish white bean soup using great northerns but I think you want a side dish instead, a recipe for that I don’t have. Please reply if you want this recipe.
Unfortunately, what I add to beans is Beano.
I wish it was not true as beans are delicious.
Clifty Farms have some great country ham pieces just for seasoning. Onions, salt and pepper after that. Sometimes, bell pepper and jalapeno will improve.

We’re having cornbread, slaw, and beans tonight. The beans are Great Northern, and I’ve got them soaking now and am interested in any ideas / recipes.
Thanks [:)]
