They do run a new line {fiber optic} to the home and new lines inside. At the time almost 3 years ago, it was free of charge, and thats 2 techs for about 6 hrs. Speed? No comparison, it’s like going from dial up to cable except cable to FIOS. Seat belt now required on my desk chair. I just hope this new TV package is going to be the same transition. From what I could find out on the web there is some town in Texas {one of the first to get it} everybody is very pleased with it. Of course it’s going to be an improvement for me, I’m on rabbit ears since my falling out with comcast. I had the cable boxes for almost 2 months, I sent them a bill for wherehousing and restocking fee, and still do on ocassion. Chow Jim

They were recently installing new cables in my area, and will begin offering the service soon.

Did they need to run a new line to your house from the street? Our house is about 500 feet from the street, sort of bhind all the other houses, and while I am excited about this service, I am concerned I might have to pay to run the lines…which are currently (existing phone & cable) underground.

Also, is internet speed comparable to cable?

    Thanks
