I travel to Louisiana on a very frequent basis. Recently I drove from NO to Venice, LA. those of you that are familar with geography will know that the Mississippi drains into the Gulf of Mexico at this location. What you may not know is that this is one of the best fishing spots in the USA. After the drain and somewhat into the Gulf, the terrain drops very steeply and at this point, the very fertile Mississippi attracts a lot of different type of fish including Marlin. I was amazed at the amount of sport fishing boats at this terminal point. There were several hundred that appeared to me to cost in excess of $500K. the dock where these boats were moored had a neat restaurant that served these fresh fish. I had one of the best seafood feast of my life with fresh fish there.
In addition, one thing that I did not know is Louisiana has a huge citrus industry on this four lane highway to Venice.
