The saddest thing is the fact he had two young children. My wife grew up, and is still close to someone who had a parent commit suicide when she was a child. She has never gotten past this and it has been a constant problem in her life. The restaurant owner ended his pain, but others will live with it their whole lives.
What a shame, suicide is such a loss.
It is true. It was reported in the Columbus Dispatch this morning.
Yes, this is true.
Just heard from family in Columbus that the owner of Spain restaurant killed himself in the restaurant yesterday…can anyone confirm this?
This is shocking to us…really REALLY had a soft spot for this place…the owner was just a lovely, sweet guy from New Jersey…serving that "Jersey" style Spanish food (HUGE portions of steaks, veal, lobster, etc.) that you just can’t find anywhere but out east…always a terrific experience…
Business seeemed to be "OK" if not bustling….but one wonders if it may have been failing (and of course the cynic in me wonders about that Jersey connection, i.e., did he owe somebody named Paulie Walnuts money back home)
Very very sad indeed if this is true…
Tragedy at Spain/Columbus, OH?
