A poster on Food Talk Central has reported on his experience with mail-order. It’s awfully tempting.
It’s interesting that Food Talk Central doesn’t cover the southeast, like Charleston and Savannah.
While I’d love to try Snow’s brisket, I just can’t see doing it by mail order. I hope I can get there some day.
FTC and Hungry Onion were two boards that sprang up following the CBS demolition of Chowhound. Originally FTC was almost exclusively the Los Angeles board contingent from CH. Some of that (very good) group has drifted away and the other boards have picked up some over the life of the board.
HO attracted a large contingent of the SF/Bay Area CHers but also NY and New England and a smattering in the South. The most active board on HO is New Jersey, though.
I’ll try to find some more recommendations/reviews before ordering. That’s a lot of bbq to be stuck with (lol)l
