It’s 46 degrees here in New Orleans, and with nearly unbearable arctic blast causing our crew to hunker down, we’re heading to the meat market to score 10lbs of beef.
Time to knock out a batch of Texas Red. Who’s making chili this weekend?
My mom got a recipe from the San Antonio Light years ago. Now her’s had kidney beans in it and used hamburger meat.Now it certainly wasn’t a direct recipe from the chili queens of old here, but it was good.
Robb Walsh in his book TexMex, has various recipes in it. Not just for chili, but also tamales, fresh fried tacos,etc.
All of Robb Walsh’s cookbooks have space on my kitchen shelf. He’s great. Now he’s reporting from Ireland.
