I don’t think I ever said that I wasn’t.

The only way the Steelers are 8 point favorites is if Bradshaw, Swan and Harris are suiting up.
My bad. You’re right. I was listening to Hank Goldberg talking to Tony Kornheiser and others yesterday, while I was cooking. I heard "8-point favorite", and I thought they were referring to the Pittsburgh game.[:(]

According to Danny Sheridan, the Jags are a 1 1/2 favorite.

Love the loyalty to our Stillers, but I have seen nothing from them this year that indicates they are capable of winning one playoff game, let alone the whole shooting match. As for Joe Paterno, I couldn’t agree more. By the way, I applaud the way Texas A & M officials handled the disrespectful yell leader. They sent the young man home and formally apologized to Joe Pa, so I give them credit.
I’m still smarting from NE coming to the Burgh and whipping our 15-1 team in the AFC Championship a few years back and am looking for a little "karma". In any case, Davenport is more of a "Stillers-style" back than Parker, Troy P. will be back, and Big Ben’s QB rating is second only to Giselle Bundschen’s boyfriend. Tell you the truth, I fear Jax more than NE. In any case, no NFC team will be able to match what comes out of the AFC this year.
P.S.: Recently I went into a Dallas Cowboys store and asked if they had a Neal O’Donnell jersey. And the kid waiting on me got the joke!
I heard yesterday that the Steelers are 8-point favorites next weekend!
The Pats played a good game and a good season.Regardless of the controversy…but we are still hoping the Packers can meet them and beat them!![;)]

My "second" team is the Steelers. I have to agree with you. They have lost games they should have won, and the division is not the strongest this year, so the record might be deceiving. I see that the first game is at home against Jax.
I am not a Pats fan…but I am not real strong for any other team either, so I don’t feel much of a bias either way….But I did enjoy the game the other night. The Giants played almost three quarters as the spoilers they wanted to be, but seemed to be overpowered when the Pats just didn’t cave-in.
It was a real game. The rest of the weekend just seemed to be teams sitting on their hands riding out the clock. Disppointing to say the least.[:(]

"8 Fresno State players suspended for Monday’s Humanitarian Bowl
"December 30, 2007
"BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Fresno State coach Pat Hill suspended eight players on Saturday, keeping them out of Monday’s Humanitarian Bowl against Georgia Tech."Seven of the eight were suspended for team curfew rules during the bowl trip, school spokesman Steve Weakland said. One was suspended for a violation of athletic department policy."
I say make Pat Hill coach of New England or president of Florida State University. Although they often don’t realize it, job #1 of these coaches, players, and administrators (as well as the baseball players union) is setting a proper example for our kids.
And, while I’m ranting here, U Texas will never be a winner in my mind, regardless of its bowl results, as long as it fails to graduate more than 46% of its players. But, at least that’s up from the 34% it graduated after Mack Brown became coach.
I’d say Pat Hill is an acolyte of Joe Paterno who once sat Franco Harris for a minor infraction before the 1972 Cotton Bowl. He still beat Texas 30-6.
A few days ago he was heckled by disrespectful Texas A&M fans at a "joint pep rally" who asked if he could still "do it". St. Joe, the Lion replied "Hey, I’m just a football coach; never said I was Hugh Hefner". Guess who won the game?
At the game of life, Joe Paterno is a winner.
As for New England and their "genius" coach, time will tell. I have a feeling that the last team standing will be wearing Gold & Black.

It doesn’t matter how far you go back, players will talk about this coach or that coach that had a positive influence on their lives.
There are hundreds of thousands of examples of kids coming from a good family unit that still have prospered greatly in life because of the addition of the positive reinforcement of a quality coach.
To take it further, there are hundreds of thousands of kids who do come from broken or dysfunctional homes who have had their lives changed forever by a positive role model who happened to be their coach.
So, it is absolutely the resposibility of the coaching staff to set a good example for the team, as it is their leadership and wisdom that the players rely on to bring about the success of the team.
Video tapeing an opponents team signals isn’t cheating, it’s strategy.
Whatever it takes to get the ball over the goal line and thru the uprights is the name of the game.
Let’s go back to the way the game was ment to be played, the days of the likes of Art Moore, George Blander and many others. Those were the days when they played both offence and defence, real football.
Football has become wussifyed, all in the name of trying to even the playing field. Games are won both on and off the playing field, if an opponent has a weekness take advantage of it because you can bet your boots they will do the same to you if given the opportunity.
Video tapeing has been going on for years with all teams involved. Why do you think that the coach when talking plays on the sidelines he holds a clipboard to cover his mouth? You don’t think that just maybe there might be a lip reader on the opposing side do you.
Whatever a team dose to win short of useing preformance enhancing drugs to gain an advantage is OK with me. I just can’t stand corrupt officals that are in the game or playing/coaching staff wagering on their respective sports. Now that’s just wrong on all accounts. Chow Jim
