    Hi,
All this talk about coffee and breakfast! Got me to thinking. My wife’s stomach can’t take coffee, so she’s grown to love good tea. At night I’ll enjoy a cup with her. We’ve grown fond of Jackson of Hanover from England…regular or earl Grey.Since she drinks so much…we’ve gotten the giant box of Lipton’s from Costco…ok…but quite different from the English blends…We want to expand our outlook. Anyother great brands to try?

The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Co. sells a decent Earl Grey and they sell both loose leaf and sachets. I’ve grown really fond of a cup of Earl Grey using a French press.

I like Twinings English breakfast tea and get the 48 box size at Wal Mart.  I worked with a Brit who swore by Ty Phoo, which I’ve seen at World Market, and at Big Lot, of all places.

@ Lee the Bard, my paisan, have you tried Teavana?

I like their raspberry roibos the best. They say roibos isn’t really a tea, more of a tincture, but it is very delicious.

When I’m in England I love making tea with the complimentary tea and electric kettle. It’s the English thing to do. Love a good cup of English tea…but in the states it’s fresh ground coffee for me!

My wife travels to Britain fairly often, for business. I envy her being able to have tea there, with all the accoutrements. Having a real tea service would be great! Biscuits, little sandwiches and pastries, along with properly crafted tea? Oh, yeah!

that’s what i have, but it’s not very good for your body to skip Bfast. it’ll slow down your metabolism too. but, if its that much of a problem, then just tea is okay

When we were in Ireland my husband and I became addicted to Barry’s. I buy it locally from, oddly, a British import shop. In the evening we drink their decaf or Bigelow’s decaf "Constant Comment". I like the spicing in "CC" – similar to chai. When I want a "real" chai, I prefer Big Train Chai to the more popular Oregon Chai.

    Lee,

Something you might like…an old classic Red Rose Tea ad from the 60’s. Still funny.

Red Rose is excellent, especially in this economy. I like both the Earl Grey and the English Breakfast, but buy the original recipe orange pekoe as well. The quality is very good on all, plus they give you a little cute ceramic animal figurine in every box which are highly collectible…you should see what some of the rare ones go for on the auction sites.

I don’t recall where exactly where Red Rose is made, but I am pretty sure it is a Unilever product and I tend to like their brands. For a huge corporation, they tend to do it better than most.
