Texas Pete on fried chicken.Tabasco on Eggs,Hashbrowns, and French Fries. Cholula on everything but oriental food. Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce on anything close to oriental. (you know the one with the rooster on it in the squeeze bottle)……Russ

Al, that Chipotle rocks. I have a number of sauces that I use depending on my mood. A homemade Costa Rican-type Habanero when I want to sweat; my homemade Jalapeno when I don’t want to. I like the Cholula as I didn’t find it masking the taste of the food like I feel regular Tabasco does. Franks adds a nice vinegar tang to things and the Chipotle has some complex flavor notes. Does anyone use an Indonesian Sambal Oleck? That stuff gets my taste buds dancing and is great added to ketchup. While I could eat a Dave’s Insanity, I don’t, and leave that to the college age daredevils that put being macho over having good taste. I love the tips on the Vietnamese style Sirracha that tells us it’s good on hot dogs and pizza![:D]

FontanaCapt.- That was my reason for speaking out about the brown label Tabasco. I think the Red Label is over"vinegared", but the Chipotle has a different combination of flavors…Not very HOT, but also Not Very Vinegary either

I prefer Pico Pica because it’s not a vinegar based sauce. It’s rich with the taste and color of the red chiles and has enough heat to satisfy without overwhelming. I gave up on the typical male behavior of holding a pissing contest over who can stand the hottest peppers years ago when I grew up.

To my palate, the taste of the vinegar based sauces like Cholula and Tabasco are overwhelmed by the vinegar.

I used Colula sauce professionally. We made a wonderful dressing with it and mixed it with shrimp(20-30 count)to put on top of greens.Very big seller. No one at my house likes it, so my use is limited now.Kinda miss it.

There are many hot sauces. Many folks prefer the one that is the most hot. I personally prefer the one with the best taste and that is Cholula.

Habanero is too hot for me but the chipoltle is just right. My favorite.

    Al is right on.

I agree with Al. Glad to see it is getting into other markets. It has been here in Northern Calfornia for over three years now. This product was developed with Chicagoland’s own: Rick Bayless.

The Tabasco Garlic variety isn’t bad either. Try this stuff called Chalula.
