About 9 years ago, just before he got married, our son took vacation the week of Thanksgiving. He and I took a tent, hopped in an old Plymouth [white w/red fender on drivers side-maybe you saw us drive by] he had, and took off for the Florida keys for a week of camping, just the two of us. We still talk about the great time we had. But one of the really nicest things that happened was, that the Sunday before Thanksgiving, we went to a little Nazarine church on Key Largo. After the services were over they invited us to join their Thanksgiving dinner. It was a diverse group of folks and great homemade goodies. We really enjoyed the afternoon of food and conversation, plus we had the opportunity to try out lots of foods that neither of had enjoyed before. It was a nice break from fast foods, believe me! Has anything like this, a nice thanksgiving dinner coming unexpected, when you had nothing on tap, ever happen to you?
Surprise Thanksgiving Feast.
