Yes. We installed one while in TX. We use it for storage (buns sit up there with a piece of plastic cross stitch canvas under to prevent the shelving making “lines” in the buns)) and as a drain shelf for dishes. Runs across the entire back wall of the cart.
Most carts have that storage area on the top of the cart with a few sliding doors. I am wondering if anyone that built their own cart used the wire rack that is used on closet shelving units. I’ve seen some of the rolling kitchens use it for a drying rack but has anyone used it on a cart?
I have to ask my HD but just wondering is anyone has used it on their cart build.
Can you find a sheet pan small enough to fit to the rack? In that case, you can then put the buns on the pan without the marks? I bet you can find some aluminum pan small enough to fit on the rack, and do the same trick, just less sturdy. Hope this helps.
I’ve seen the small NSF listed cart units sold at Sam’s used. I admired one of the local hot dog guy’s use of bungee cords and how he mounted (strapped down?) one side of the shelf on top of his Brinkman oven bun warmer. Props to you Stan at Asheville’s Downtown a la Cart!![8D]
