You folks are great — how about some recipes for those dinners, as long as I can not be a special guest I can make the stuff myself..
Big Sauce-each— I have a special guest coming to visit next week and everytime we go out she orders the seafood pasta—may I have the recipe for the specialty of your house. I make mine with white sauce and she likes red.
Deep Fried Turkey —–sounds interesting, I ain’t never had one of them there birds.
I make ribs just like John A & Pigiron do, but I don’t have Mr Brown’s recipe.
Cajunking serves bar-b-q and PaulBPool makes spicy Mexican Chicken —
you know I thought everyone would be serving thick juicy steaks, Verrrry hinter-resting ——-
kkrhmom —that’s what I like a good Irish meal !!!!! Sounds yummy
If they never had one, I’d do a Cajun Rub Deep Fried Turkey. People go nuts the first time they have it. Plus I get to sit back outside in my chair with a cold brewski and watch them peek in the pot to try to figure out what’s going on.
It’s fun to watch the reactions and listen to the comments.
What do you think cajunking?
Sounds like ribs are a popular choice.
When I want to impress friends, I make a slightly sweeter version of Alton Brown’s oven braised baby backs. If my guests have an aversion to pork, I make stuffed beef bracciole in marinara.
For my last special guests I served BBQ ribs, chicken, and beef. Homemade sides were beans, potato salad, two kinds of cole slaw, key lime pie, and brownies.

I would have to serve my Italian stuffed bread. It always gets rave reviews. Along with that would have to be chicken parm, spaghetti with homemade sauce, and cheesecake for dessert!!!!
Seafood pasta, Shrimp, Clams, Mussels, and scallops. Ether red or a Alfredo sauce. garlic Bread, a nice green salad and a couple of bottles of wine. Easy and elegant.
No question, my spicy mexican chicken with rice – a dish that will make your head explode!
I would go with what I know
either BBQ
or
Gumbo, etoufee, jambalaya
Supposing you were expecting a very special guest, or suppose a cooking magazine got in touch with you and asked for your favorite recipe and/or menu. What would you plan as your "Specialty of the House?" This is it, one shot, winner take all !!! Fame and fortune or ———
