The marine layer (AKA Fog) was coming in over Marina del Rey which made for great viewing of the eclipse.

Here’s a link to all of my pictures taken from my balcony:

I think this is my favorite picture:

All of my pictures just showed sun flare. [:(] Not sure if that was my camera, the fact that I was at 6200 feet with almost zero pollution, or that the mountains and trees were very much blocking the view. But it did get creepily gray outside and stupidly dark inside for about an hour.

The cloud covering became too thick for me to catch a ring of fire or the exiting of the shadow.

The pine tree is the same in both pictures.

Nice   … In my time zone, the sun had already set before the eclipse started.  I caught the space.com web cast just in time to see the ring of fire form.

This is what I see from my balcony.  I’m not in the Marina.

Before that highrise condo complex I could see the Santa Monica Mountains where they end in Malibu.

See the hospital staff looking at the eclipse?  One of them is looking through a big xray negative.

Very nice.  Looks like the foggy clouds cooperated at times to create a dramatic opening through which to see the sun.

What else can you see from your balcony?  How about some shots of the Marina?
