And down the middle of the beef….
I’m not sure why Herr Hoffman would pass through Cincinnati when I-70 would take him directly from Columbus to Indianapolis, but Graeter’s has locations in both Columbus and Dayton so you’d still be covered.
Circumstances sure did conspire against us too..
ALthough I know the pies and food had to be amazing,
even more so I miss not visiting with our wonderful friends, which are always MORE of a treat.
Ann- CONGRATULATIONS!
I am so happy for you! That is wonderful news!
We will have to be sure and clear the calendar for the next event.
Oh, believe me, I HAVE a kite……… and you are all welome on it. I have a broom, too………..
I think it’s more a Pie Feast….
YUM
YUM
If my Mother asked me “oh… so what are those peppers called?” I would start to cry.
Robert Irvine said that?
Oh, wait. Evelyn Waugh. I remember now.
I envision a business plan that parks the Pie Wagon somewhere in Gilbert each night during the Winter season.
NO!NO!NO! I’ll look like Fat Albert if you do!!![woot][:D]
In a contest between Kopp’s and Graeter’s Black Raspberry Chip, there are no losers. Only winners. I love them both and wouldn’t dare pick between them.
Come h#ll or high water, I will be there. Besides a chair-I would love to bring something to share……..tell me what!
You could let us take turns flying your kite…[;)]
Congratulations. Amazing that you were hired despite your past as a sumo wrestler and muskrat trapper.
I sure was sweating, Mr. Hoffman!!LOL![:D]
What’s in a name? that which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

Seeing this list and understanding a little bit about your family and current situation, I had an inspiring thought!!!!
Gazing into my Marketing Crystal Ball, I see a “Pie Diva – Pies on Wheels” FOOD TRUCK in your future!!!
Take your future into your own hands!
Google Baked Pie Food Truck and get a “taste” of what I mean. A number of them went from Trucks to B & M.
Early Spring to Late Fall in Wisconsin and Winters in AZ.
It’s the same concept I helped The Lobster Lady with.
She summers in Maine and Winters down here.

I know you’re busy prepping smoke day, but let’s talk next week!
Talk the Pie Truck Idea over with the Contingent and get their opinions since some of them are in the food business.
I-71 from Columbus to Cincinnati, then I-74 to Indianapolis will accomplish the same goal. And there’s Graeter’s.
And yeah, there’s Graeter’s in Dayton and Columbus (they even sell pints at the Heinen’s grocery chain in Cleveland), but it’s not Cincinnati Graeter’s, which everyone will tell you tastes better than Dayton or Columbus Graeter’s.

Or you could just get some at http://maps.google.com/maps/place?hl=en&client=safari&rls=en&revid=928874110&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.,cf.osb&biw=1440&bih=780&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=fresh+farms+wheeling+il&fb=1&gl=us&hq=fresh+farms+wheeling+il&hnear=fresh+farms+wheeling+il&cid=12998617192928828394 Fresh Farms at Dundee & Milwaukee and get a couple pints there.
And then drop it in the trash before you buy frozen custard at Kopp’s.
Very true….might depend on what the flavors are, though.
First off, ungrateful daughter, how long have you known about this, and why haven’t you told me before???
Secondly, while I have great respect for both JRPfeff and abe_froeman, and a genuine affection for Kopp’s custard (and the occasional cheeseburger), until you have tried Graeter’s Black Raspberry Chip you cannot make statements like that. I don’t think I’m going out on a limb saying Graeter’s Black Raspberry Chip is one of the best and greatest flavor achievements in the history of frozen desserts (I use the term “frozen dessert” so as to include both premium ice cream and frozen custard; the distinct differences between the two I understand and recognize).
I’m pretty sure at least one well known Roadfooder from Pittsburgh will back me up on this. Unless he just wants to keep his nose clean on this one…
