Bavarian Inn does really good things with game meats. I really like the Hausenfeffer (sp?) (rabbit). Be sure to get there during daylight, they have some neat views of the Potomac river.
Also on rte 45 on the West side of town near the Food Lion is a regional Itialian place called King’s. It’s owned by a family from Naples that ran a/some restaurants in NJ before moving to the eastern panhandle of WV. If you go ask for Dominic and tell him Big Mike From Inwood sent ya.
Staunton and Natural Bridge are a ways from S.town.
In about 10 days I will be going to Shepherdstown, WV for a visit and have researched good Roadfood places there and in Virginia. I plan on eating at the following places that I found on this site:
Wright’s, Staunton, Va.
Pink Cadillac Diner, Natural Bridge, Va.
Yellow Brick Bank, Shepherdstown,
Bavarian Inn, Shepherdstown,
Blue Moon Cafe, Shepherdstown.
All of these places sound good but does anyone have any special dishes that should be tried at each one?
Thanks for your help.
