Thanks for the recommmendation, but I’m really looking for places across the border. ( I know Maine fairly well.) I’ve heard of a place in St. John,NB called the Mad Mechanic or something like that. On our last visit we found some places, but I was hoping to get advice from the heavy forks at Roadfood. Again, thanks everyone!
Well, there’s Margarita’s in Orono (exit 49 off 95? Kelly Road exit, go North) Actually, pretty good Mexican food. British Airways used to send their flight crews there and we would keep the kitchen open for them. Try the chicken quesadilla extravaganza. It’s good, but huge. If you want to be an insider, ask for an M R X N/s (margarita on the rocks, no salt). That’s the waitress’ abbreviation. They make their own sour mix, which makes them so good. Steven King used to eat nachos there.
Help! I am doing a road trip from eastern Maine to Nova Scotia with my elderly mum in September. We would like roadfood info and maybe lodging recommendations. We both like seafood and pub grub, but I would like to introduce her to Asian and Mexican food, if any is available.
Thanks, everyone![;)]
