I just went last night. The seat cushions and decorative paintings in the dining room still reflect indio-mexican culture with lots of vaquero and indio visuals. the brisket, chicken and ribs are first rate. They had to move their smokers closer to the main drag because some their new upscale neighbors did not like the barbecue smoke. And the place was quite crowded last week when Snoop Dog dropped by for a visit on his current tour.

I hope the new upscale digs doesn’t mean they are going to change anything about their very good food.  Have you been to the new location yet, mr chips?

Reo’s Ribs, reviewed by the Sterns in their books and a couple magazine articles, has moved from suburban Aloha, Oregon to more upscale digs in southwest Portland, Oregon. The new digs are in a former mexican restaurant off Macadam Avenue in Portland’s Johns Landing District. The Sterns have written in the past of their surprise at finding good barbecue in unlikely Portland and Reo’s is good. Owner Reo Varnardi also decorates the place with photos of his world famous nephew Calvin Broadus known to almost everyone as Snoop Dog. The place has good food and a very friendly staff.

Thanks…Boy the reviews published on several sites sure run from HOT to Cold and back. Sounds like he has a problem in the location from neighbors who don’t like smoking Meat in their business’s.
