Some people need it for their expense acct or deduct it as a “Business Lunch” if self employed. Amazing how fast it adds up.
If you eat a $5.00 lunch five days a week it amounts to $1300.00 a year!
yep. sure have. I use deli tickets. It comes with a carbon copy. If they ask for one, I write them up a detailed ticket with item & cost, tax, total. It doesn’t happen all the time, but it does from time to time.
has anyone ever had a customer ask for a receipt ????
We write it up on the paper bag. Problem is I priced our menu with the sales tax included. We don’t keep a broken down list, so David wouldn’t know what the pre-tax prices are… So the very few times it was needed (for ticket splitting), they just got the posted price listing… so far no complaints.
I picked up a simple receipt book at Walmart for under $5.00 and have a rubber stamp with “Stubby’s Grab-N-Go, Shelburne Falls, MA” on it. I just write out a receipt when requested (several times a week, usually). As with Lorna, I don’t break out the meals tax, but that’s ok – I don’t itemize the receipt anyway (I just write “Lunch – $5.50” or whatever). So far everyone’s been happy with that.
