Clearly you need to set up a QC Pizza Tour for your next visit home![:D]
Incidentally, here are some of the pics I’ve found around the Web, to verify that these places are, in fact, QC-style.
Clint’s Pizza.
Poor Boy’s Pizza and Pub.
Stashu & Son’s – not strip-cut, as you can see, but every other element of the style is there!
Ditto for Huckleberry’s.
The Yankee Doodle (formerly Schultzie’s). Their cheese looks different.
Wise Guys.
Uncle Bill’s.
Thanks for catching that. Updated!
Unless the http://www.qcfrankspizza.com website is outdated, Frank’s also has a Bettendorf location.
Another, lesser known place that should be added to the list is Pizza Joynt in Milan, IL. 🙂
Stop, you guys are making me laugh!
I’m from Bettendorf and for the most traditional and best it’s either Harris Pizza (in Davenport and Rock Island) or Sports Fans (in Bettendorf)
This style started at a place called Chefs Hat and got copied as it grew in popularity.
So there you go…more information than you actually needed. (/grin)
You can't say I don't know this crowd!
Any year in particular or all four?
Memories of third grade come flooding back…
Buddy
Damn near killed’em.
There aren’t enough Italians in most areas of the country to follow Lee’s dictum, and so I think Costco’s pizza deal is great. As are the hot dogs, though I usually get a Polish instead.
🙂
Not much in the way of Quad Cities style out here though. A business opportunity for someone !
Dictum? [lol]

“Being Italian” certainly isn’t a requirement for recognizing good pizza. I’m just saying it isn’t real Italian pizza. Now, I do realize there are places in the US where real pizza is hard to come by, but that would NEVER make fast food pizza real pizza by default.
lee, I am thinking NZAlexS may like SPAM on his pizza.
Oh,I’m sure…
