A local restaurant, Puffin’s in Millbury, Mass had a small fire a few months ago. An off line request for info about this great breakfast place has caused me to post………
I don’t know the owners and seldom went as I am not an “out for breakfast person”. None the less, I knew the place to be very popular, and expected a quick re-build. The place sat, closed, for months.
In the last month or so, the old place was torn down, and a new foundation poured. The new wooden structure is just getting started. As a retired builder, I know the builder to be top notch, and I note how he has protected the paved parking lot. Puffins had a dirt lot for years, and the fire happened shortly after the lot was paved.
I’ll try to remember to update this post in a month or so……….
Update 9 Jan 19. The shingles are on the roof, and they started putting in the windows today.
Update 17 May .. The outside is done. It looks like they will have a deck. People must be working on the inside every day, because I see trucks in the lot.
I’m happy to report that they quietly re-opened a week or so ago. I have not been, but the parking lot is full.
Hopefully that level of business lasts longer than the initial surge that so many places get when they open/reopen.
