Their website does not show pictures of their food and they call it regular or wheat bread. It is not sliced bread as in a typical sandwich. It is definitely a hoagie style bun. I know. I have eaten too many of them. I’ve had them in Minneapolis and Chicago. The Wreck every time. [:D]

As I said, I’m not doubting you nor that your location sells subs. I was merely pointing out, that it is primarily a sandwich (and sides) shop. You can add pics iof you want, but it’s not necessary. IAll I’m saying is that a sub was not an option at the one I went to in VA and that, when asked about, "Potbelly Sandwich Works" I discuss their sanwiches. Which are fine, although I like Booeymongers (A DC sandwich/hoagie shop with 2 locations) a bit better.

I can’t believe I forgot to mention the cookies. They have an excellent oatmeal-chocolate chip cookie. They also have this thing called Sheila’s Dream Bars–those taste like the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie had a baby with half a stick of butter. [8D] Very very good.

Why go to THAT chain when you can go to THIS chain.

oh wait…this IS the FFF Forum!

Well, apparently, the reason one would go to Potbellies instead of Cousins, would be because Potbellies specializes in sandwiched, and Cousin’s looks like a sub shop.

If we’re talking sub chains, I’m a Penn State Sub Shop fan. http://statecollege.com/menus/PSSS.pdf ( no food pics )

or CC Peppers for a Philly Cheesesteak! Yum

Also, since I got myself talking about Central PA restaurants,
when in State College don’t forget to hit "The Corner" for a deluxe diner atmosphere. One of a kind. Also known as the Allen Street Grill.

No, Potbellies has subs, just like everyone else. They are served heated, though, and can be quite messy. Because they are hot the bread gets toasty on the outside & can tear up your mouth if you’re not expecting it. I like Cousins better, but Cousins does not deliver. That is important to me when it’s 6 degrees outside, like today!!! [:p]

That said, they have a great veggie salad & their potato salad is so good that I want to buy a big bowl of it & put it on a roll from Fuzzy’s Bakery in Sheboygan & have a potato salad sandwich.

I haven’t seen the sub rolls at the one I went to, but I’m sure there are location that can make the sandwich on a sub roll. However, it’s primarily a sandwhich shop. Here’s their standard menu http://www.potbelly.com/food2.0.html
(I can get pizza at McDonalds, but I wouldn’t call McDonalds a pizza joint.)

I have only been there for breakfast at Midway airport. I actually thought their breakfast sandiwiches were pretty good. I think I got bacon, egg, and cheese and topped it off with onion, lettuce, tomato and mayo. Pretty good for airport food.

I ate at the one just off 23 in Ann Arbor quite frequently. It was very tasty, and I really liked their soups.

While not to be confused with a NY style deli, we find them to be far superior to other chain sandwich shops (Subway, Blimpies, D’Angelos, Jersey Mikes, typical pizza shop subs, etc).

We buy potbellies from the local animal pound. Smalls are $25, Mediums are $15 and large ones are $10.

    Fatty but tasty

They also have a location on Crooks, N of Big Beaver, in Troy (which I think was the first one in MI) as well as one in the Ren-Cen downtown!

The best part of the Penn State Sub Shop, is that it would deliver.

the bad part was, that on Football Saturday, it took something like three hours to arrive. (3 sub shops, 100,000 football fans, anther 30,000 students. they were kept pretty busy)

    Score,
Your Penn State Subs must be different than the Dagwood or the Teriyaki Cheesteak (Provolone, Steak, Mayo and Teriyaki Sauce) that I get at Penn Station East Coast Subs when I travel to OH, MI & IN. It’s a chain that originated out of Cincinnati in the 80’s and is growing in the Midwest. They also serve Freshcut FF’s and Fresh squeezed lemonade.

Alas it hasn’t made it’s way to Balto County yet.
