    Not bad.

    Not wonderful.

I used some sort of a short rice that I purchased in a Latin grocery. It had a kind of nutty flavor, but not much taste from the soup.

I had a lot of rice stuck to the bottom of my pan. Guess my simmer is too high unless John’s recipe had the same result.

    Time to go scrape.

By the way… I’d make it again. Just with some added spice.

Sounds like the rice overpowered the soup. Try another rice and a lower temp for simmer. If all else fails use a bag of boil in rice, been there & done that when no other was available.

    Fifteen more minutes.

I put the can of water in after realizing that it couldn’t be just the soup.

Stirred, covered and I’ll let you know.

    Smells great!

John, did you first have to bring it to a boil before you started simmering?

I wonder about the rice cooking.

I’m going to try it tonight or tomorrow night.

    Looks so delicious!

    Golden mushroom soup is great!
I have been using it for years. Usualy I just open the can pour it over my chops or roast and let the juices from the meat thin it some. Then have the perfect gravy for whatever.
