We have recently been nostalgic for Quonset Pizza in Waukegan, IL. Very thin, crispy crust–it’s been years since we’ve had it.
For Chicago-style pizza we liked Giordano’s, Lou Malnati’s, Gino’s (no surprises there).
I lived near Gigio’s in Evanston, which used to serve big, greasy but good NY-style slices).
Champaign, IL used to have excellent, very different pizza at Garcia’s, but they fell into hard times and lost the magic. Champaign has great deep-dish at Papa Del’s.
We moved to TX 14 years ago and had to leave pizza behind and embrace barbecue!
