No one will have the last word except me and this thread is going nowhere and it is Locked. A little flaming going on and that is totally unncessary.

No, I’m not. In fact, I’ve said the opposite. That others may have other opinions, but my opinion is my opinion and I’m comfortable with that opinion.

Man, for someone who said, "They don’t even look appetizing in the commercials that I’ve been seeing[xx(]," you sure seem interested in PH pasta.

yeah i have bashed the pasta, but I haven’t told someone there’s no excuse to patron a place. I just felt you could have said it in a better manner. And I’m sure that’s why Jman is all fired up.

    PS to fattybomatty and jman:
you can have the last word. I’m done. I answered the question, that IMO, (based on experience) that it’s crappy pasta. I wouldn’t eat there even if it was the only place in town. Others may.

fattybomatty, decide for yourself after all the comments are in if your willing to eat PH pasta. You have my opinion – consider it, or don’t.

unless jman wants to call me "elitist" or "pompous" again, I have nothing more to add to this thread.

If you don’t like DC or the pompus jerks who work here, then please don’t come to DC. We don’t need another tourist patroning chain restaurants.

The OP asked if anyone had tried it. I said I did and it wasn’t bad and that I’d order it again. How is that repeatedly lauding the PH pasta? I gave the OP a direct answer.

so did I. One answer, that you seemed to have a problem with. Since then, however, you seem to be defending PH pasta. Because I can’t see any reason you’d squibble with me about reasons against eating there if you didn’t like it.

I don’t think my OP was so severe to prompt you quoting me and scratching your head as to why people post what they do.

If I’m the "restaurant police," are you the "thread police?"

No, here’s precisely what you said:

"Please, stop eating there…," wow! that’s harsh.
Or maybe you don’t understand that when someone on a forum says "there’s no excuse to eating Pizza Hut" that the "IMO" is implied -since this is a thread about one’s opinion on PH pasta. Obviously, it’s just an opinion, not a fact. It’s my opinion.

When I first moved to DC, I went to the location in Tenleytown neighborhood. The pizza was as close to Chicago style as I had eaten in a long long time.
Our office, takes an annual trip to the Armand’s on Capitol Hill. It’s about a 10 minute walk from my office. I noticed that the Capitol Hill location was not as good as the Tenleytown location, but it wasn’t terrible. Because our office was off-site for a year and a half, it’s been a few years since we took our "annual" trip.
Today, we went back. The pizza has taken a major nose dive since a couple years ago. The pizza was not good – only slightly better than Pizza Hut. I made a comment to a fellow co-worker that the food has really gone downhill, she agreed. I made the comment that given the poor quality of the food, and the attitude of the manager – we should find a new pizza option for next year. She agreed. As did others in the group who overheard our conversation.
The next closest pizza place is about twice the distance. I can assure you, that I will never go back to Armand’s, and am willing to travel twice as far for much better pizza next year – others agree.
If it was the only pizza place on Cap Hill, I would’ve suggested we go out for subs next year. And even suggested that perhaps if the other pizza place is too far, that we go out for something else – others agreed that there’s no reason to take the annual Spring luncheon to Armand’s if that’s the level of food we’re going to get.

No one is suggesting that anyone should go somewhere where they don’t like the food. The point is that just because you don’t like it, it doesn’t mean that those who do are ignorant.

Your posts on this subject are an example of why some newbies feel less than welcome. You repeatedly said people are ignorant if their tastes are different than yours.

My point was why do you have the need to bash PH in a thread that asks about the pasta, a dish that you’ve not even tried? I hate Washington DC and a lot of the pompous jerks that work there, but I don’t jump into a thread about DC restaurants to vent my opinions. It amounts to the same thing.

Score reader I can’t "misquote" you since this site takes your quote Directly. I know it’s your opinion. However, you are trying to tell people that your opinion is the "right" opinion. People like pizza hut, it’s going to happen. But I don’t think you should be telling them they don’t have a "good enough reason" to patron a place if they enjoy eating at it. I love mcdonald’s. Are there places with better burgers? Absolutely, but if I’m in the mood for Mcdonald’s then I’m going to eat there. Now for you to tell me that I would have no excuse to do so because there are better burger places or I can make a better burger at home is asinine.

And your case in point proves what exactly? There are going to still be people that like Armand’s and will go there. Not everyone has the same taste. So while I have no problem with you having an opinion and bashing these places I do have a problem with you telling people they don’t have a good enough excuse "in your opinion" to eat at a particular place. I know you follow it up with if that’s a person’s choice so be it and you don’t care, but that’s after you bash them for their choice.

How is that not a good enough reason to eat at a place? And obviously you do care if you’re telling people that it’s not a good enough reason to eat at a place they may happen to enjoy.

Mind you I don’t like pizza hut and will definitely joke around with someone who does, but to say that they just shouldn’t go because I consider other pizza to be better is ridiculous. If you don’t like a place so be it, but to tell someone they don’t have a valid reason for going to it simply because somewhere out there there’s a better place is absurd.

don’t misquote me fattybomatty. I said it’s not a good enough reason IMO – which means "in my opinion." That doesn’t mean it isn’t a good enough reason for another person.

You asked if it’s any good. A person I know from work ordered the pasta to-go. Said it was crap. I saw it. It looked like crappy pasta. I agree with that person’s opinion and it furthered my opinion that Pizza Hut is crap.

Take the advice, or leave it. Your choice. IMO, you’d be nuts to waste your money – even if that was the only pasta in town.

IMO, if a place serves crappy food, and it’s the only place in town, the sole fact that a place is the only place in town, is not reason enough to eat the food.

I lived in a small town like that for a year. It had one place to eat – a sort of family restaurant bar (anyone who has lived in a really small town knows the kind of place I mean). The Jack Daniel’s was the same Jack Daniel’s as served at any other typical bar in America. The food was crap. One taste was all it took. I never ate there again, even though the burgers were tolerable – I cannot, however, say that I never drank alcohol there again.
