I went to Hoosier Mama Pie in Evanston last Saturday to celebrate Pie Day 2020. No surprise there!
(I’m not sure if another version of this post will show up somewhere, some day. I posted it but it doesn’t seem to be anywhere that I can see.)
I want to say here that I have to thank the late, great ChiTownDiner, the incomparable Gregg Pill, for encouraging me to finally try a Sour Cream Dutch pie. He basically told me to get off my ass and try it, and not to worry that it would taste like sour cream. One of the many moments of wisdom he imparted to me. Thank you Gregg.
I’m also sorry to say that as of now, Hoosier Mama’s is closed for two weeks because of the Coronavirus. I was hoping they would be able to work out some kind of a pick up service, but I imagine it’s too risky to make many many pies and possibly only have me show up. I hope this doesn’t hurt their business too much. I’ll try to help when they are finally able to reopen.
Great, just great. Now I have to have pie.
thanks man! 🙂
Glad you got to celebrate Pi Day. The school where I work had a chili cookoff and Pi Day scheduled for the 14th but it got cancelled.
He looks perfect. What did you do? Now I’m hungry.
