I once took a business trip to Salt Lake City and dragged a group of guys like you are planning on doing out to Log Haven on Mill Creek Canyon Rd. It was a great choice. You can’t find a much better setting and the food was outstanding. I think it would be reachable from Park City. It cemented my reputation in the office as a food connoisseur so later they were willing to let me take them to dives and diners for pork tenderloin sandwiches. [;)]
Brilliant! Exactly what I was looking for and more, Bluemaxx. I will try to get to as many of them as I can. I’ll be dragging along 6 other men, but your descriptions should go a long way in convincing them to go here vs. the usual suspects.
Thanks a bunch!
desertdog – here are my recommendations and places we hit while we are in PC half the year. Like you, we NEVER go to the usual suspecs so many of these are off the beaten path but still easy to get to if you call for directions.
No Worries Cafe (on Kilby road in Jeremy Ranch, next to a gas station)
Mexican (both in SLC but WELL worth the 25 min drive):
Blue Iguana (in downtown SLC across from the convention center)
Red Iguana (sister to Blue Iguana and just as good. Not far from BI)
Happy Sumo on Park Ave a block from Main Street in PC
Casual Lunch & Dinner:
Good Thymes Cafe (great all around food next to Smith’s grocery store)
Happa Grill (Best burger in town and within Redstone plaza)
Sugarhouse BBQ – definitely the BEST BBQ I have had anywhere in the rocky mtn states. Also location is great. Just at the bottom of the canyon in Sugarhouse. WOW!!
If you are into Indian food like we are there is the best Indian Food restaurant in Sugarhouse as well called Bombay House just off Foothills Drive.
Lastly but not least the single best meals we have had anywere in the SLC and PC area is a small little diner called Ruth’s on Immigration. This place is 100% Roadfood and always packed!
Hope this helps. Have fun and let me know how the snow is!!
Any recommendations for "secret" places in Park City, away from the obvious touristy/family oriented places?
Got a guy’s trip this weekend, would like to hit something out of the way while there.
Claim Jumper – we have here in PHX
Main Street Pizza and Noodle – Family oriented
Fuddrukers – been there done that
Big H – Just a burger joint
Baja Cantina – we have that here in PHX
Grub Steak sounds interesting.
