There was an Astroburger on Melrose Ave in Los Angeles when I was a student in the ’70s. I remember the burgers were good and also cheap. It was a good place to chow down for a couple of bucks out of a student’s budget.
Is Astroburger a chain or some sort?
I visited Kramer a few times when I had a plant in Adelanto, CA. It’s been 10 years though. We would drive the 70 miles round-trip for a burger. I didn’t remember the name "Astroburger", but it was great. Maybe things taste better when you have to drive a long way and the anticipation kicks in. Out there, it’s just a neat, boring drive thru the desert with little else to see. I’m glad to hear it’s still there.
Thanks for the tip, RoyHarv! Sounds like a good place.
A bit more from the same source:
Came across the following on a web log. The author was driving from Las Vegas to Los Angeles:
A bit of web reasearch points to Kramer’s Junction, the intersection of Routes 58 and 395 in Barstow, CA, on the edge of Edward’s Air Force Base.
I just thought someone here might be interested. A search against the forum didn’t turn up any matches.
