I found a good barbeque place in the nearby Kissimmee-St. Cloud area a while back when I took the family to Disney World. It’s Fat Boy’s Barbeque, and it has several locations in the area. The phone numbers of two of them are 407-847-7098 (Kissimmee) and 407-892-4400 (St. Cloud). The pork spare ribs were meaty and well prepared with a good, smoky flavor. The tomato-based sauce, available either hot or mild, complemented the meat well. The sides were also done well, especially the cobbler, which was very good.

Please try Emeril’s newest restaurant, Tchoup Tchoup, on the Universal Studios property. I saw it on a Food Channel special when it opened and it looked interesting. Haven’t heard yet from anyone who’s been there.
I was there last May………..it was terrific and the service was splendid. They have a great menu.
If you want good BBQ, go to Bubbaloo’s in Maitland on the main drag E. of I-4. Used to be called Barney’s and has been there forever. If you want a good sub or pizza go to Donato’s (not a chain) in Altamonte Spgs. Lots of tourist traps around so you have to check w/ locals to avoid them.

Do yourself a favor and head east out of Orlando through a nice stretch of North Florida country and get to New Smyrna beach.Go to JB’s Fish Camp It’s on a spit of land between the Atlantic and the Intercoastal(Indian River)A real Old Florida treat with great fresh seafood.Frog legs, crab cakes and more. One of the last best places just north of Cape Canaveral. 15 miles of no development!Have a nice trip.

If in Disney-Restaurant Akerhaus in Epcot, Whispering Canyon Cafe and Artiste Point in Wilderness Lodge and Cape May Cafe in Beach Club.
I am going to Orlando in a couple of weeks for about 4 days. Does anyone have favorite places down there. I realize asking that is kind of like asking for favorite spots in Vegas, there are so many places to go. I am looking for any type of food, as long as the place is great.
The only definite place so far is the Peabody hotel for Sunday brunch.
Thanks,
Glenn
