    cb = cracker barrel, ie the chain restaurant with the fake antiquecraftsgifts shop in front.

    opinions vary

    I think they are OK – not the worst I have had, nowhere near best either

    For a real country flavor try real lard instead of the shortening. Belive it or not it’s healthier also. Chow Jim

    It tasted like the real thing!!!!

    Like CB Biscuits

    2 c White Lily Self-rising flour

    1/3 c shortening

    2/3 c buttermilk

    Heat oven to 450* Lightly grease a baking sheet.

    Cut the shortening into the flour, and stir in the buttermilk. Mix for about 1 min. Don’t overmix. Roll out about 1/2 inch thick. Place on pan bake for 8 minutes. Makes 12. Brush with melted butter when you take them out of the oven. Enjoy. They will be white on top, but done, like the CB ones!!
