OK, so where the hell is leethebard? Lee, you’d better show up here, or on Fans of Roadfood on Facebook.
Also Metroplex Jim. Where are you?

I’m still here, waiting patiently.
ChiBears15 is alive and well at last check. He and other members of The Contingent communicate frequently via email and text. Most of his Roadfood related postings had been going to Instagram long before this dreadful “upgrade”. I think, like so many others, he was frustrated with the photo posting limitations here. That led to his transition to Instagram more than a year ago, or more. When the changes happened here, that sealed the deal.
We met up with him regularly here in the Chicago area up until the shelter in place order. Naturally we’re all champing at the bit to get back together, but frankly, there’s no place to go right now.
Thanks! Good to know! Nice to see folks checking in as well.
David_NYC here, doing a “radio check” of the registration feature. It allowed me to open a new posting account using a different email address and user name on April 6, 2020.
I am going to create a new post about the “Missing”.
I’ve been checking this site at least once a day since March 1, 2020. Throughout this entire period, the site has remained stable and I never found it down. Someone has been deleting Spam, but no one has fixed any software bugs in this implementation of bbPress.
For the regulars who still come here, I would recommend posting here again. A message board like this still has features that you won’t find on such social media sites as Facebook and Instagram. It is a solid message board, but auxillary features such as message search, PM’s, and the Settings control may still not work for some people since the migration was botched. There still is no picture hosting, but you had to supply your own image hosting on the old software, too.
If you are a existing member who was unable to log in after December, 2019, the easiest solution is to open a new account with a slightly different name. I would suggest adding the number 1 after your old user name so that we instantly recognize you. I have just tested the registgration feature and it does work. It does not require you to log into your email account to verify the registration.

“Roadfood.com from Fexy Media, the gold standard for online food journalism.”
I’m glad to see some people are still coming back. I guess we’ll just have to settle for the limitations of the new setup. It doesn’t look like there are going to be any more improvements. We can communicate with one another, just not like we did.

I have been deleting the spam but have seen no sign of anyone policing this site.
I get the feeling they left the power on…for now, but this site is pretty much abandoned at this point.
I doubt that anyone’s missing me, but I have checked in periodically and read many of the frustrated posts. I decided not even to try to log in, but just did — and here I am.
Best wishes to all during this challenging time.
I logged in using my old log in. The site seems very quiet now, missing the postings of the past. Rona sure has knocked out the travel and ability to sample new places.
Very interesting comments by people.
I used to be a regular on the old Roadfood. Due to some really goofy stuff,I haven’t checked in for 7 or8 years. What the hell has happened? Someone may remember me as mbrookes.
I have gone under ground and no longer post on Roadfood, especially since the website has changed. I wish you all the best. Be safe, well, and healthy.
