I got to share some excellent NM food at Carlsbad Tavern in Scottsdale with Foodbme, then a couple months later got to enjoy some of his famous deep fried Turkey at the Tucson Pig Roast.

On my travels through Sothern California, I was blessed with the opportunity to meet up with EdSails and his then-Fiance and tea mistress Beverly at her establishment "The Vintage Tea Leaf" for some fantastic teas, soups, finger sandwiches and scones. We also made it over to Cisco’s restaurant for a Cisco burger and some O-rings.

My final encounter of the year was to meet up with Mr. & Ms. Ayersian as they passed through the Phoenix area last week. We we able to get together for lunch and try the BBQ at Joe’s Real BBQ in Gilbert. I look forward to thier trip report in the near future, as they spent some quality RF time in Tucson after leaving me.

I plan on doing much more traveling this year than last, and hope that along the way I am able to meet up with so many of you I have gotten to know on this site.

You’re welcome to stop in Oregon. [;)][:o)]

We have enjoyed participating in several Meet-N-Eats around the country since 2004. There a bunch of nice people who join in on these fun activities. We look forward to meeting many more at gatherings in the future.

Mr. Chips, it was a pleasure munching on fritters with you in Portland. The invitation still stands for your and your family on your next southern visit.

    Happy New Year, roadfood friend!

The Nashville get together was really super and I met so many folks, I forget them all. In addition we had the Austin meet last February, Moonlite the year before, a couple of Memphis, Nashville and Lexington meets and various others over the years. I have had many come into Knoxville, TN for lunch and dinner at Louis on Broadway and Littons and many other places.

It is really super meeting and developing friends. like that.

I gotta hand it to Al as he has been super in bringing those events together.

Although I haven’t met any roadfood friends face to face, please know my life has been blessed by our internet friendships. It’s dangerious to start naming names for fear of inevitably leaving someone out.
I’ll give a short off the cuff list of those with whom I’ve encountered and have enjoyed. The mayor, Tamandmik, NYNM, foodbme, desertdog, Fieldthistle, Mike S, Adjudicator, John A, Davydd. Please forgive me if I left you out!!!!!!!!!! I truly enjoy everyone expressing their opinion on roadfood.
    OH! I DID’T FORGET, left for top billing;
007jamesbond, he sends me great cajun food, I try to keep up with him supplying New Mexico vittles.
ANNIE, my Packer friend(Bear man here)you’re sending food also, just don’t send one of those foam rubber cheese hat things.
Well, grateful for friendships here in southern New Mexico.

God, I hope I don’t miss anyone; sorry if I do.

Tumbleweed, jjjrfoodie, and TJ Jackson in Cincinnati.

    Davydd in Minneapolis.

chicagostyledog, MilwFoodlovers, stricken detective, JRPfeff at various mini-meets in Milwaukee.

All of the above plus ChiTownDiner at the Vienna Tour de Beef held last March.

    Uncle Vic in Grand Rapids.

Al the Mayor, CSD, and ChiTownDiner at Freddy’s in Cicero (also my daughter abe froeman, but I can see her almost anytime).

Edit: Good gravy I almost fergot one of my bestest BBQ buddies in the whole world, The Dr. of BBQ! Jack’s amiability and stunning generosity shine like beacons in the dark Springfield, Illinois night. It is always a pleasure to see him when I pass through town. Glad I snuck this in before he saw I’d missed him on the first go around. I am such a sly devil…

I’m still waiting to share a meal at Sokolowski’s University Inn in Cleveland with someone. It’s an amazing stop and I can’t believe it is not yet an acknowledged part (reviewed by the Sterns) of the Roadfood universe.

If I missed anyone, I sincerely apologize. If you remind me I’ll edit this post to include you.

While driving home from Kansas City Christmas vacation I looked back on all the folks I’ve met this past year through Roadfood and I have to say it’s been a remarkable bunch of people. I enjoyed the time spent with each of you and look forward to meeting up again in 2008!
