I bought it in Bar Harbour directly across the street from the ice cream place on the corner that sells softserve blue berry ice cream. Only place in Bar Harbour on the main drag that sells ice cream. Their blueberry softserve is made from the owners recipe and apparently it is not out of a can. Walk across the street and there is a place that sells wine and beer. Must have a thousand types. They got the Blueberry Ale in a cooler.
Pretty strong stuff I thought.
Incidentally, I drove back to Portland on route 1. I stopped in Belfast, ME at Young’s lobster pound. They have a restaurant on route 12, but do not go there. Go to their Pound on the bay. They have lobsters by the 1,000’s. I picked a two pounder, they boiled it for 24 minutes, and it cost me $20.00. View is great. I also ordered their corn on the cob, cole slaw, potato salad, and chips. I took my own beer as they do not sell it, but allow you to bring your own. Rustic, primitive and the view is spectacular. You can get their very fresh mussels also. You know the lobster is fresh cause when they pick them out to put them on the scale, they are fighting mad.

As I was traveling from New Brunswick to Maine, I noticed an incredible amount of blueberry fields. I would drive past them slowly and I noticed that the tops were a beautiful blue. I noticed that some were advertised as wild maine blueberries while others were just blueberries. I do not know the difference or if there is any. It appears that the harvest was excellent this year.
Regardless I had to have some. The stand which was located next to a huge field sold them by the pint and they were $5.00. He told me they had just picked them and the sugar content would be very high. I stopped at the next convenience store, washed them off and bought apint of Cows vanilla ice cream. Excellent.
I spent the night in Portland ME and I had fresh blueberry pancakes, blueberry muffins, soft serve blueberry ice cream in Bar Harbor, blueberries and cream. I had so many blueberries, I am surprised that I did not turn a shade of blueberry purple.
