I also am ready to cast off winter. Ready for some good outdoor adventures. Roadtrips will be a bit tight if gas hit $4, but people have needs. I need roadtrips. Glad to hear things are going well.

Things have been going well. I have for the most part been very happy with my progress. (bad weather you can’t expect too much) and i am very optimistic that Spring will be really good. Getting lots of good feed back. Thank you for asking.[:D]And you? Hope all is well.[:D]
Shelly long time no check in. How goes it?
I brought a coworker to Charlie’s recently and Joe and John were talking about how they’ve become a "culinary destination" and if they had to depend on their location they would have closed by now.

Yes sir ,
Location is big but if you have a superior product they will come . Charlies is the place for me .

yes 150 – 200 a day average, and seeing that the traffic permits more. I usually can tell this by the regs that you establish come daily while the passer bys watch the deals. I feel the more people see consistancy the more inclination they will have to try you out one day… Then it is up to you to make them regulars!
Bigjoe, that is 150-200 per day correct?

[8]I have had many locations and many carts. I know that location is the biggest factor. I sell thousands of dollars of dogs a month and I have a huge year round base and when I try new locations with the same product ,unless the traffic is there, no deal. I have a two week rule, If you cant pull in 150 to 200 by the end of the second week, start looking for another spot. Carts of course.
Charlie’s Pool Room in Alpha New Jersey. Horrible location. Loyal customer base that will drive miles out of their way. Family tradition. Tremendous pride in their product. A good enough living it seems. I’d call Charlie’s Pool Room a grand success.
On the other hand, it is a pretty shallow success if there is no pride in one’s product even if one is laughing all the way to the bank.
Fortunately a great location and a great hot dog are not mutually exclusive. But if both were not possible, I’d rather save on rent, serve a John Fox worthy dog, and trust that road fooders and such will beat a path to my door.

I don’t care how good your location is, or how inebriated I was… Doggy doo on a bun would not cut it. [;)]
