Livermush is very popular in the Piedmont Area of North Carolina.
It is very reasonably priced. About 1.69 per pound. It is great fried crisp and served with grits and eggs. All of our local eaterys serve livermush at breakfast and you can also get a livermush sandwich served the way you like it. It is good with mustard, onion and chili.
I guess you have to grow up eating it to enjoy it. My Dad use to make it fresh and it was good served with crackers.
Oops … actually I meant to say … It’s not just for breakfast !!!!
Here in Charlotte, livermush is often found on breakfast menus as a substitute for bacon or sausage.

Ort Carlton is the man who can direct you to all the great places that serve livermush in the South. I’m sure he is lurking on the board somewhere. Ort where are you??[;)]
Harvin Meats and Neeses’ are two companies that produce said product in my area (Middle South Carolina). You will see it as liver mush and in many places around where I live, it is called liver pudding. However, liver pudding has more whole grains of rice throughout the product.
It is not for breakfast, however, it is very good mixed in and melted into hot grits !!!
Just about every grocery store in South Carolina will carry some version of this product.
It is most excellent !![:D]
