Jody, thanks for the information, I will keep it in mind as I move forward and do the due dilligence setting this business up. Just want to make sure I’m fully legal before I operate this business lol. I’ll be dealing with a lawyer which is the advice I got from a free small business counseling service to get my ducks all in a row. Thanks…Neil
I lived in the Orlando area several years ago. I was not in the food business at the time, however my wife and I attended many art & craft shows in the area. You may want to try festivalnet.com.
Basic membership is free. It will give you an idea of what is going on around you. Some of the events may be too large to start with. Some of the events we attended where; Arts in the Park (Downtown); Kissemee Arts & Craft Show; Winter Park Arts Show; Kephur Hills Arts & Craft Show and a couple of smaller events. Unfortunatley many events are not published and are hard to find about. I am doing one next week in Georgia that I didn’t even know existed until my sister told me about it. The smaller events generally do not have the requirements imposed by larger events and are easier to get into. Good luck on a established location, you live in a mecca of tourism and a good location should not be hard to find.

Hi, new to this site and just posting a quick blurb. I am in the planning stages of starting an Italian Ice pushcart business in central florida. My main focus is going to be fairs, fests, events etc. but also want to establish a regular spot or 2 for during the week. If anyone out there knows anything specific as far as requirements in towns around central florida, I’d appreciate any feedback. Also if anyone who currently or formerly operated a similar type business has any good information on running and maintaining a quality business. Such as what events are potentially solid and ones that are overrated or cost too much. Thanks and look forward to reading posts out here, seems like a friendly site……Neil[8D]
