Never had the dogs there, but have stopped many times at The Apple House in Linden, VA for some good roadfood. It’s a couple of miles off I-81 on I-66. Google it or go to theapplehouse dot net…
Hey Hotspot, You going from NJ traveling South looking for, or expecting better Hot dogs,is like going from Paris to London looking for better French food. The Hot Dogs and sausage in NJ are some of the best in the country, it doesn’t get much better than that. Like Foodbme said, post this is “Where should I eat” and the cities you may pass through around lunch, dinner. There are a ton of food places you can get a true Southern food experience…………………Take care and have fun…….Bill
You need to research futher. Are going thru chili bun territory. Most places in the area serve a red dog with chili.
Google chilli bun trail and chili bun(s).
Pals is a chain and others from Staunton, Va south to Knoxville area. I cannot say they are open today but an easy phone call will not get you TTM’d.
