I would prefer the Buffalo tour but mostly for selfish reasons. I could combine it with a trip to see the Buffalo presidential stuff and the Baseball Hall of Fame (I’ve only been once 32 years ago). Beef on weck, hot dogs, and Buffalo wings sound mighty good to me

Now, now, Captain…I’m quite proud of SC BBQ, even though I no longer live there. Shouldn’t you, a Myrtle resident, be its greatest advocate? Hailing originally from SC, naturally I love it and miss it even more, especially living up here in good-BBQ-starved Connecticut. I was a Maurice’s fanatic until Amy & I met Nancypalooza and Julie at Hudson’s in Cayce over T-giving last year. The meal was extraordinary. But I will say that putting SC BBQ on an official RF tour of Carolina ‘que would be tough, given the distances between the great spots in both states. Sounds like a two-day trip to me…which could be awesome, actually! [:p] Chris

BBQ and pizza in that order. While I’m from NOLA, and renowned for it’s great food, but not these particular two.

Well, it looks as if everything goes as planned this year we will exceed the 14,000 miles we racked up last year traveling around. So far plans extend to Washington DC to the east and everything between dipping down to KY, TX, NM & AZ to the southwest, out to Nebraska and who knows yet beyond. If all goes as planned we may traverse over 25 states. So we have a chance to hit most of those suggested places on our own tour. I doubt we will get on an official Roadfood.com tour.

Although I’d love to do tours of all of the above, I actually voted for New Orleans. Partly because there’s just so much amazing food there, and partly because 2.5 years on, the city still needs extra love and attention.
And just think of all the gumbo/snowballs/beignets/Sazeracs/oysters/po-boys/crawfish pies! Tee-Eva’s, Queen of the Ball snowballs, omelets at the Camillia Grill, Mandina’s shrimp po-boys, oysters and boudin at Cooter Brown’s, etc.
    Now I’m hungry again.

They all sound good and I would be happy to go on any of the them, but the KC fried chicken/bbq tour is the one that jumped out at me the first time I read the poll. Of course, anything to do with eating in New Mexico is tough to beat!

I picked New Haven because I was sort of feeling like going home for a visit.

I think that the very narrow voting was the result of a lot of choices – all good. I know I didn’t know which to pick. A poll this large might do better if you could rank 1-5 (or 1-10, which would get equally unwieldy) which choices you would like. In case you are interested, my first choice was Coastal South Carolina, which I assumed meant Charleston, Edisto, and the surrounding area.

But, if I could do 5, with descending value for each (10 pts – 8 -6 – 4 -2, for instance), it would probably look like this:

#5: Indiana Tenderloin (I have never even had one, but if one man could be so passionate about this sandwich, I want in)
#4: New Haven (Since I lived so close and travel NY all the time, it is a little embarrassing that the only place in NH that I’ve been is Louis Lunch)
#3: Buffalo (so long as we’re talking summer!)
#2: KC (I love KC, but it is so hard to get me out of Arthur Bryant’s)
#1: Coastal SC (there is just SO much good stuff)

    Hello all ,

Anyone interested in a NJ Hot Dog Tour we will be conducting our 5th Annual in Sept .
    Hosted by Hot Dog Nation
John Fox , Benzee and Coney Island Lou .
I gather thats why we came in at 7 % because its been done a few times .

I would love a CT Dogs and Burgers tour in the upcoming year .
And if a Carolina Barbecue tour was planned the week of the Charlotte NASCAR night race in October I would make sure we attend .

    Benzee
