    Winglover,

Some of IHOP’s pancakes and french toasts are indulgences, indeed! I enjoy IHOP every once in awhile, but I do not consider their fare a "normal" breakfast.

leethebard – I understand what you are saying, but I didn’t put any syrup on my stuffed french toast and no whipped cream. But to each his own. I personally like a little something sweet w/my breakfast type meals and I still think that it was a good deal for under $7.00.

You can always ask for no sugar syrup which is what I do when I eat at Waffle House and order their wonderful pecan pancakes.

I like Waffle House and IHOP (even though they don’t offer waffles) both equally. It just depends on what type of mood I’m in.

Sounds interesting…but see that’s my point..these descriptions sound like fancy desserts….things smothered in syrups and whipped creams…"stuffed" french toast……i-hop creates fancy desserts masquereding as a "breakfast"…..certainly a rare treat…but as a regular breakfast…..ok so in addition they throw in eggs etc…OVERKILL..enough calories for a day’s three meals

Just took the grandkids the other night to IHOP. They are 8 and 10 but do not order off the child’s menu. We all ordered the stuffed french toast (one w/blueberries, one w/strawberries and one w/apples). It came with hasbrowns, 2 eggs and 2 slices of bacon or sausage for under $7.00 each. We all like the stuffed french toast and I have tried the fried cheesecake and it was good too. The crapes are also a good choice.

I am sure that it is regional management but the IHOP’s in Knoxville is very good. I take Mamaw Smith there regularly. I always enjoy their food and the service is very good.

Maybe it’s all in personal preference and location, but all we have up north are IHOP’s, so I’ll take them and Denny’s anyday over a Waffle House (especially after the rumors I’ve heard about them).

However, Coney Islands beat any of these places (it’s a Detroit thing).

We have a wonderful local mom and pop that makes everything from scratch. Went recently to IHOP at a guests insistance. Overpriced, waaaay too sweet and terrible service. Never again. We eat the same thing at our mom and pop for half the price and everything tastes wonderful and everyone is nice.

Went to an I- Hop recently …my kids saw a commercial..and you know how that is!
Well, my oh my…what is passed off as a breakfast…would make many a dessert blush. I’m a diebetic, and any of their fancy Breakfasts would land me in "sugar Heaven".
I found their standard, simple pancake and egg style breakfasts poor(at best)…choices were slim there too…but boy oh boy..if you want something with whip cream and fillings piled on..can they bring it on!!!
No one here should ever put down Waffle House again!!!! Give me the simple life!!!!
