I missed the first Thanksgiving but Chewing the Fat was there and has the pictures of the Bird—stuffed and done to a turn.

Hope y’all have a great Thanksgiving.

Well, the quiz should check it’s own facts. That Benjamin Franklin advocated the turkey as the national symbol is incorrect. What happened was that a military regiment’s symbol looked more like a turkey to him than an eagle, so he wrote a mocking letter, suggesting that maybe it was a turkey by intent, and giving the “reasons” why the turkey should be the national symbol. There is no question that it was mockery, not a proposal. In any case, I got 14 right.

SPOILER: strangely enough, when I visited Israel in the late 60’s, I had a turkey dinner; it was at that time that turkeys were just being introduced there.

I only got 10 answers correct. Guess I don’t know much about turkeys. We usually have pork roast for Thanksgiving and prime rib for Christmas.
