I just said to my kids last week that I wonder if there’s someone or someplace that has a collection of EVERY Happy Meal toy since the beginning?
^There is a book called "McDonalds Toys Around The World: 1995-Present", if you are interested. It is available on Amazon:
There may be other books, too.
My b-i-l does not have every McToy there is but he is a collector.
They even have "collectors" books describing all the toys from all the fast food places.
^Really, 10 nuggets? That’s outrageous!
I haven’t ordered a Happy Meal in years, but I do order from the Dollar Menu often. A cheeseburger & small fries off the dollar menu is essentially a Happy Meal without the drink and toy.
Generally every time I go to McDonalds I get a chicken nugget happy meal with no salt on the fried and a diet soda—I think it’s really quite filling.
I can’t believe that they made the standard nugget combo 10 nuggets–that is far too much for anyone.
Oddly enough, regular McDonalds cheeseburgers are one of the few foods that I can gut when I am sick to my stomach…
Add me to the list of admitted Happy Meal eaters. I love giving the toys to friends’ kids and the meal is good and not too big. (When hungrier I also admit going for a Big Mac meal.)
I think McD’s beef is better than its competitors. Plus I could swear they add extra vitamin &/or mineral supplements. A regular hamburger always makes me feel better when I am run down or feel a cold coming on. [Don’t laugh, try it! Works for me. [:)] ]
I still wish they hadn’t changed their shake formula though. It used to be a really healthy drink (it even managed to make a list of foods in Runner’s World magazine that were "good for you but you don’t know it"), now its higher fat content makes me feel guilty. The regular burgers are also really low fat, something like 9 grams. Amazing.
I bought the Burger King version this summer so I could get the Simpsons toy.
I get them so I can get Gigi a toy…[;)]
Wow, I had forgotten the Salad and Pedometer combination. I actually thought it was a pretty good idea, but it sure didn’t last….
They tested, then rolled out an "Adult Happy Meal" for about a month in 2004:
Large salad, 20 oz. bottle of Dasani Water & as the "toy", a pedometer. [:I]
I was at McDonald’s in Ontario, Canada about a decade ago and had what they called an "Adult Happy Meal"..a quarter pounder or fillet o fish, large fries, drink, Nestle Crunch bar and an instant lotto ticket. Wonder if they still have those?
My son loves McD’s cheeseburgers, so we get them occaisionally for him. He won’t eat their fries so I do.
We have been switching to get the apples instead of the fries lately and then I dont get my fries
I either get a Happy meal or the Southwest Salad. Those are the only things I’ll order from McD’s. And yes the toy still makes me happy! [:D]
PP eats them anytime we go to McD’s, which is rarely.
guilty of getting them for the toys,
