These things are amazing!
They remind me a little of 17th century Dutch art – genre paintings and still lifes.

Fascinating stuff. I really like it. Sorry I never knew about him before.

One of the artists on WetCanvas is working on a diner scene, someone posted a similar scene by Goings. A quick browse of his site and I knew it had to be shared here.
So, Frank, what sort of venue are you moving into now?
i am amazed and awed by ralph goings.
dream painter…………………. weird how we both hit on the talents of the same artist at almost the same time.
I was wrapping up my former job as Art Commissioner for the city of San Jose CA. when I came across Ralph Goings work as I deleted art work off of my computer. I’m from the old school and loved realism but Silicon Valley loves the latest in Hi Tech Art so it was a long time since I enjoyed some realism.
When I came across Goings hot-dog pics I thought we folks at Roadfood.con would also like seeing them. ……………………. browse through his web site and view his diner pics, and you might want to Google him at http://images.google.com/advanced_image_search?hl=en
and yes this too is a painting……..
well they say great minds think alike…[8D]
A happier time, a slower time, a hot dog time, a CHEAPER time. Did you notice gas was only $1.28 in one of those paintings????
Ah, back in the day….[;)]
my god….Deja Vu all over again…………………
Frank, I posted my reply and when I checked what else was new on this board, I found someone posted about Ralph yesterday! What are the odds? Its under "Off Topic and Lighter Fare".
Good grief Frank! I go to the page and I thought I stumbled on a Parses6 hangout[:D]
I must say his style looks exactly like a photograph; a unique style for sure.
