Hey JoJo Where in S.I. were U (if u don’t mind me asking)? I am originally from the Island.
Maybe a stupid question but what is a commissarie?
i want to get started in the business, (hot dog vending) and have quirte a few question could you send me your e-mail if you don’t mind answering some question
I live in Edison NJ and was thinking about buying either a hot dog cart or food truck. I was wondering how Stephanie s situation worked out. I called about getting my license and they stated I had to be mobile to sell hot dogs unless you owned a cart since early 1970.
I read the whole discussion on this topic. I am trying to make sure this is the right movie for me, as my family does count on my salary as a source of income. My dream is to be self employed. I love cooking and would like to start small and eventually open a restaurant. Buying a hot dog cart or food truck I believe would give me this opportunity to get my feet wet while figuring out the direction I want to go. I plan on long hours and working hard at first but can you really make a living on this? It sounds like the only down fall to this business is location. I am just doing the research right now and would like to decide what to buy (hot dog cart or food truck) by January 2007. I come from a corp. background and I don t really have any experience in this industry other than my drive to succeed. Can you really make it in this industry? Did the women in New Jersey have any luck finding a location? Is anyone in my area successful? I am not looking to be spoon feed as someone said but just a little guidance. Like I said I have a family that counts on me and just want to make sure that I am prepared before I jump into this kind of industry. Thank you for reading my long sob story. I will appreciate anyones honesty.
I have been looking into starting my own hot dog cart out here in Texas. I thought about doing the home depot/lowes thing. I have seen many carts at those locations in Missouri. I was wondering if you could give me any information at all about starting up. What can I expect when tring to put a cart on someones property? How should I go about a business proprosal to the companies that I want to use there property? The best question of them all is am I going to make any decient money? I want to do this because I know it is going to be fun, but obviously I still need to support a family. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This jerk USA Partner has 19 post but they’re all just like this one. I always wish they had an email address that would allow us to send them about 100 emails automatically a day saying something that would be complicated enough so that they had to waste their time and read the entire message. Now that’s some software I’d buy.
This guy is quite a nuisance!!!
Here is a service that is from Google. Once you sign up and enter the search subject Google will search every hour for any new articles on your topic. Mine is for "Events". I get 3 to 10 emails each with a link to an event every day. A lot of them are too far away and in fact some are even overseas, but it just takes a minute to delete them if they’re not what your interested in. It’s free and doesn t require a bunch of garbage to sign up. You could search anything hotdogs, sandwiches, fast food, festivals, events, you decide. Try this you might strike gold. Here is a sample of a Google Alert.

Thank you so much for all your great ideas. Ok, as far as the Veteran statue goes, My Grandfather was a vet, but he passed on, so that isnt going to work. My Father in law is a vet, but he lives in Florida and we are in NJ. The person would have to have a NJ drivers license. My husband thinks there is a guy at his work that might be interested in working with us, and we would have to pay him, but he is a vet. The only thing is, do you think he would be liable for taxes? We will be claiming taxes, but we arent sure about him. If we can get a Vet, I think we would be ok, and can set up on any of the highways around here, thats what we were told by 3 of the towns around here. The other thing is to look into Lowes or Home Depot, but that takes about 3-5 mths to process the work. I wanted to get the ball rolling before that. Thank you for your support and inspiration. You are right, I have to stay motivated and focused, and not give up!
I’m going to ask some questions and I’m sure you have thought of these issues but maybe not:
Have you thought of hiring a veteran? Can you find a disabled vet that will work with you? He need not be there, but you’ll have to give him something.
Have you had an attorney look at the city or county code to see if there is a way around this? They usually don’t charge for a consultation.
Don’t give up on fairs festivals or events just make your presentation more impressive and go right back at them.
Can you find a church group or youth group to work with? Sometimes the rules are different for those groups. So you give them 2% so what.
There is always a way to get the job done and it s not uncommon for the system to be a real pain in the ass. But once you get your foot in the door your in.
Can you sell on private property? If so keep knocking on doors& ..
DON T GIVE UP.Never give up never ever. If you keep plugging away every day you’ll get the job done.
thank you all for your help. I wish you luck!
