Love LACMA and the getty. It’s been 30 years since i visited the malibu Getty but it was memorable. Great pictures and great write-ups.

WOW! I live here and don’t eat that well. I couldn’t afford the gas even with taking Metro.

Think I need travelling guests with a purpose.

Also think I need to drive to Simi Valley!

Thank you for an excellent review.

    Hey guys,
Awesome as always… that matzo ball looks amazing! (Actually the bagel chips on the side look
    purty darn good as well!)

Yummmmm to everything & thanks for all the detail! I wanna check out that museum myself…
(but I still need to do the Getty…).

    Cheerios! [:)] ccf

Ellen, that’s exactly what we’re always looking for — thanks so much for your recs. We know that we’ve truly accomplished something on vacation when there’s not enough time in the day to hit all the places on our must-visit list! Now if RF would comp our meals, I’d write reviews every single day…[8D]

next time make a stop at "Law Dogs" on Sherman Way over in Van Nuys..
it’s a hot dog stand, where the owner lawyer gives out free advice once a week..

    (it’s a Cupid’s Hot Dog style place)

And for supermarkets , I like Gelson’s… ever been?
    some locations even have carving stations; I’ve gotten hot prime rib and turkey (the real thing);

I really like the L.A. taco stands, places like Alberto’s… the way they fry the taco shell, etc.
and items liked the rolled taquitos.. so bad for you, yet they taste SO good…
southern cal makes just my style of tacos..

and for a good , big messy burger, I like B & R Old Fashioned Burgers on Rosecrans Ave in Hawthorne..
and up in the San Fernando Valley, I like Sirloin Burger on Lankershim in North Hollywood for more of the same
    (good and messy!)
Sirloin Burger also makes great fried chicken, and crispy shoestring fries…

Quote from BuffetBuster–"I always HAVE to stop at the La Brea Tart Pits everytime I am in LA, too."

HEY B-Buster— What kind of Tarts do you like from "The Pits"???[}:)][;)][;)]

Kids, I am enjoying your travels thru my old home area. My brother lived in the Valley for many years, and we often cruised the miles of strip malls looking for "treats" from almost every type of ethnic food shop you can imagine !

As a High Desert Dweller myself, I will be interested in your desert-area stops. Keep the reports coming![8D]

Yeah, we thought it better not to track the number of pounds pre and post-holiday trip. But we tend to share a lot of meals so that helps to some degree! [:p]
