The place they went was definitely in Hardinsburg. Perhaps the one you mention moved? A peek at smartpages.com suggests it might be Dina’s Family.
There is/was a place on U S 60 just outside of Irvington, KY that had a family style buffet going for awhile. I believe it has shut-down now. This could be the same place your friends visited… We weren’t impressed with the cleanliness the one time we stopped. I don’t recall the name either…except that "Family" was in there somewhere.
A couple friends went to a Monday nite funeral in Hardinsburg, KY (25 or so miles west of Fort Knox on US60) and stopped for dinner at a place in town with a buffet featuring fried chicken and other country cooking. They said it was delicious, cheap, and clean. But all they can recall about the name is somethingorother family somethingorother, and that it is on US60 in Hardinsburg. Anybody know anything? Al the Mayor, do you?
