I’m very happy it is being taken care of…I hope it lasts.
That’s a beautiful “Mountain View Diner” built in Signac, NJ. It was part of the original owner’s (Bert Coon’s) 5 diner empire. 1st was Halfway Diner in Rhinebeck-moved to Red Hook and is now the Historic Village Diner. Then he opened 4 Chief Taghkanic diners…West Taghkanic, Chief Martindale, and 2 more Chief’s, both more modern “space Age” diners…one last operated as “O’s Eatery” burned down, and the last has been totally covered up. The Taconic Parkway was a very fertile Diner ground. The West and The Historic are in the best original condition.
The West Taghkanic Diner, where Deb & I stopped many times on our way to Vermont.
