Crass maybe, but besidese their other undoubtedly great food, do they have fried ice cream? I really want to try some, my daughter wants Mexican, and we are going to Fort Wayne next week (I just bought some Mexican coca-cola from a Mexican shop in the small Indiana town of North Manchester, home of Mr Dave’s.
Thanks
Doug
Well I know you can get fried ice cream at Cebolla’s (look at the menu on my site). Plus, I think you can get also get it at Pablo’s, though Pablos doesnt have their deserts mentioned on their menu for some reason. FYI, they also have a chocolate volcano, a mexican caramel-covered elephant ear thing (I forget its name) and chocolate cake. That was just from memory, so I am sure I am forgetting something.
Too bad this hadn’t been around at the end of August 2005 when I spent a couple of days (actually only an overnight I guess) at the Hilton Ft. Wayne on business. Cindy’s Diner was right around the corner, but, guess what, they were closed for vacation the week before Labor Day. As a result, I had breakfast in the hotel’s coffee shop, it was awful.
Well maybe next time.

Doug,
Las Lomas is indeed still open,on Fairfield just north of Creighton, and, as a matter of fact, they just opened another restaurant at the corner of Lake and Coliseum.Havent been to the new location as I like the historic building they are in downtown so well.
Cant answer about the fried ice cream, if its not on the menu, just ask for it. They prepare tons of dishes that are not on the menu, including my wifes favorite, prima vera (sp ?).

Mr Johnson,
If what you state is indeed the case, please accept my apology for my previous snooty reply.
At least for the readers of this site, the listings should lean towards family owned, unique, independant restaurants.
For starters, Chefs Hut no longer exists under that name, and is under new ownership. It is still Indian food, but it is no longer very good at all.Its now called The India Grill I think.
Off the top of my head I would try to add: The Oyster Bar, Las Lomas on Fairfield, Powers Hamburgers, Coney Island on Main St,The Lunch Box on Maplecrest,Mad Anthony/ Munchie Emporium on Taylor,House of Hunan on Coldwater, amongst others which I will post later as I think of them if you like.
Once again, please accept my apology. The site is well designed, and it was wrong for me to make assumptions without knowing the facts.

Pretty shoddy list IMO.While there are a couple of decent places mentioned ( Acme Bar and Grill for instance), the ommisions are far too numerous to mention. The list seems far too geared towards chain eateries, and most likely whoever was willing to pay money to the site owner to have their places listed.
Actually, the restaurants pay nothing. If you have some suggestions about which restaurants you want to have listed, just tell me here or thru the website mailer. I am a full-time student at IPFW currently (english major) so I do not have alot of time, but I will try to get them up there when I can.
I know the site is missing alot of restaurants; there are over 400 in this city. I just kinda drove around and signed up whoever was in my area at the time. Also, the restaurants sometimes did not have a menu for me to take. In those cases, they did not get listed, since every restaurant must give me a menu to get listed (its what makes my site better than the other sites out there currently).
Keep in mind that this is a hobby, and that I have yet to generate profit off this, so if it seems like its leaning towards large chains, its not because I was bought off or something.
THANK YOU FOR ALL THE REPLIES! I dont usually get feedback on my site, so I really appreciate it!

I made a website with 70 restaurants, all with online menus. Some menus are kinda big, so they may take a few seconds to DL on dial-up. If you are heading thru my town (the city known for its many restaurants), take a look at http://www.fortwaynediningguide.comViva Fort Wayne!
Great Site!!! I wish I would of known of this site in 2001, 2002 and 2003 when my son was involved in the Traveling Basketball Leauge which has it’s National Championship tournament in Fort Wayne every July.
I travel to Ft. wayne on business a few times a year. Eaten at all the Don Hall’s and they are pretty good, hear they were a lot better before he dies though.
This will be helpful, although it does seem rather corporate.
That’s certainly how it appears, although only the site admin knows for sure
Still, the fact that Applebee’s and Chili’s are listed as "steak houses" just simply has to be wrong….http://www.fortwaynediningguide.com/steakhouse.php

Kinda wonder why Applebee’s is getting plenty of mention in that guide while Powers Hamburgers isn’t even mentioned
Not very roadfood-y, as I see it….
