I sold my moms old cookbooks that were dated from the 20/30/40’s on Ebay for some good money…
    That was pre-RF,, Alright?

Two of the titles I downloaded I am finding interesting are "A Manual of Vegetarian Cookery" by George Black 1908 and "Miss Cameron’s Cookery Book" Ida Cameron 1898.

Mr. Black’s recipes seem quite refreshing in this era of GMO soy, tofu and whatnot. These are recipes I want to try. Miss Cameron’s book is just plain fun with the engravings of her sponsored gas stoves and her impassioned advocacy of this newfangled technology.

Please, if you find some great titles you like, share them. Saves a lot of digging about

I absolutely love old cookbooks-thanks for the info!!!I recently acquired a copy of The Settlement Cookbook from the 1930s, and what a treasure!!Not only does the book have recipes-it has whole sections on how to be a good housewife, what to stock in my kitchen to be a good cook, and how to care for babies AND the infirm…What a difference in lifestyles!![:0]

    Free Old Time Cook Books

As many may know, Google has scanned many open domain books that are out of copyright and has made them available online. Quite a few are available as free downloads, covering every imaginable topic, including cooking.

I find these old cookbooks rather interesting and thought some other folk would as well. In searching for some of these ancient gems I found just using the search term "cookery" brought up quite a few. Anyway, here is a link to get you started:

    Have fun.
