I just sorta work within the system. If Rushmore wants to change it, that is fine with me and I will just figure out how to navigate it again. After better than five years, I have got this far. If I live long enough, maybe after another five years I can figure out the new one.[:D]

We dont need more bells and whistles. We need to simplify, simplify, simplify!

I’ll second roossy90’s suggestion, although I think what that function actually does is take you to whatever’s been posted since your last visit. At least that’s how it works on another message board I frequent.
I don’t understand all this terminology either, Seafarer john! But sometimes upgrades bring more and better functions. [:)]
Just a suggestion.
I hope when this does change, it gives you the option of clicking onto a thread or post, where you left off, instead of scrolling and having to find the last post.
One that take you right to the last post you read on each post would be great!

I could John, but they, unlike the two I already explained, officially fall under the category of "mysterious" or "esoteric or arcane or gobbledegook", hence I assumed they’d be uninteresting to you.
Since you now show interest, here you go. Enjoy sir.
1. phpBB: Stands for PHP Bulletin Board, an UBB (Ultimate Bulletin Board) derivitive, open source, free software forum package based on the open source programming language PHP (Perl Hypertext Preprocessor).
2. Internal IMs: An instant messaging system that works only within the framework of a given forum. Allows members to IM each other when on the site.
3. MOD: An abbreviation referring to forum code modifications created by the phpBB community. It’s capitalized to distinguish modifications from forum moderators.
Keep in mind John, I used those mysterious and arcane terms in order to prompt a response from someone who would be able to answer my questions. And damned if it didn’t work. I had no interest in getting any other type of response. If my use of those terms irritate you that’s not my problem, it’s something you need to work on.
Carry on. I’m finished with this thread within a thread.

Who the Hell, except the Capt and Mrs Snitz, reads that stuff at the bottom of the page?
I thought our hosts were Michael and Jane Stern…
Standard Operating Proceedure: Operating what? By what proceedure? And by who’s standards?
I think I should have said esoteric or arcane or gobbledegook instead of mysterious.
Case in point: A few minutes ago I tried to open my E-mail. But AT&T Yahoo has CHANGED and IMPROVED and MADE MORE SECURE my home page. It now so damn secure I cant open it! It seems that I’m going to have to learn how to post a photo of some kind that no one else could claim as their own (perhaps my private parts?).
Result I’ll have to wrestle with the new system for an hour or more tomorrow morning before I can open my mail.
Cheers, John
Mysteries?
Snitz Forums are the clickable link at the very bottom right of every page. They host Roadfood.
SOP is Standard Operating Procedure.
There were still Model Ts on the road when I was a youngster and, yes, I’ve cranked them with a lame arm for days afterward to show for it.
And just because my friend Enginecapt can toss out mysteries like "Snitz forums", "phpBB", "SOP", "internal IMs", and "MOD", doesnt mean I have to accept them as "good" any more than I’d believe the strange stuff in the standard books of mysteries of religious belief.
If nominated for moderator, I refuse to run, if elected, I refuse to serve – I will not , at this time of my life, take on anything that has the slightest whiff of responsibility and attention to duty about it. And, anyhow, Rushmore and I would just never get along together.
I repeat: If it aint broke dont try to fix it. This is the easiest site I’ve ever seen to navigate- that’s why I like it as it is.
Cheers, John
Do not remember who said it, "The only thing constant is change itself".

Awww go crank your Model T. [;)]
Hello All,
I like the current system, but new and improved can be better. I haven’t a clue about these
software servers, but go for it. At my job, we’ve made many software changes. Once we get
accustomed to them, we prefer them. Change is not as hard as we fear.
Seafarer John, if it doesn’t work well, they’ll get back to what we have very quickly.
And actually, Seafarer John would be a good moderator. Rather than nominate, offer it to him.
Take Care,
Fieldthistle
There’s an idea!! I nominate Seafarer John for a new Moderator’s position!!![:o)][;)]

John, they are fine for many, but you also don’t work here and moderate.
