FDA Approves Viruses As Meat Additive
Your hot dogs and luncheon meats are about to get better…if you believe the FDA, that is.
The FDA has approved a mixture of 6 different viruses to be sprayed on hot dogs and cold cuts as well as other ready to eat meats. The reason for this is that this six demon bag of viral matter loves eating the Listeria monocytogenes bacterium.
I guess requiring food manufacturers to develop and handle their products in a safe manner so the Listeria would not be in the products in the first place just got too cumbersome. Far better just to spray the food with these creepy little critters that the FDA assures are "safe." Will you know which products contain these viruses? Of course not, Big Brother knows very well if you knew that information you might not care to buy these products in the first place.
The FDA does equivocate a bit in their statement regarding the safety of this virus mix; "As long as it used in accordance with the regulations, we have concluded it’s safe," said Andrew Zajac, of the FDA’s office of food additive safety.
To further confuse the matter, the FDA is already passing the buck (or bugs as it were) to the USDA which will administrate the program.
Seems to me these agencies are playing roulette with the nation’s health. Round and round they go where the bugs stop nobody knows!
