I doubt they give rebates to grandmothers with the appetite of a bird. It’s a numbers game I’m sure.

I was a student at East Central Junior College in Decatur, Mississippi in 1961. I was not a jock but I was friends of many who were. There was a place not too far away that had all the catish you could eat for $1.00. Bear in mind that was 47 years ago. I went with about 40-50 jocks that were a combination of football, basketball and baseball players. We dominated the place and there was some hungry eaters. We put the cook on overtime and thankfully the owner tolerated us.

He later put up a sign that indicated that he fed ECJC jocks 500 pounds of catfish, hushpuppies, slaw and fries.

I do not know if that was the exact amount but we enjoyed and the owner was very gracious.

6 of us college football players were refunded our money and asked to leave a "smorgy" once. We were happy to do so since we had already agreed we were done. It was a cheap place at 3.99 for dinner back in the mid 70s.
